Greetings once again and welcome to the Signature Word Podcast. This is for the week of Monday, June the 8th, 2026. Today is part four and the concluding episode of our series entitled David and Goliath. In this series we explored how David's courage, memory and faith were instrumental in him defeating Goliath. I sincerely believe that we all have a measure of courage, a sense of fight, if you will, and survival inherited in us. Memory and faith is what completes this triangle. When their champion fell, the Philistine army fled, revealing that their power rested in one man, not an entire force. We must never forget that with God on our side, the odds, the size of our opponent, their position or titles simply does not matter. In the book of Exodus, chapter 14 and verse number 14, Moses reminded the people that the Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace. Now we know it's difficult to remain calm when your back is up against the wall, when you don't see a path forward. The Israelites had no path of escape. The Red Sea was in front of them. Pharaoh and his army were advancing from the rear. What Moses was saying to the people, this is not your fight. It was never your fight. We must always remember God can and often does use us to accomplish his purpose in the affairs of this world. We must be willing to trust him, stand still and hold our peace, and always remember that it is not our fight. We are the instrument that God will use. We all have Goliaths, giants that strut into our lives. They parade around morning and evening, defying us and the God whom we love and serve. Just as events changed on day forty one when David entered the camp of Israel, change is coming your way. So I ask, What day is this for you and the Goliath, the giants that you are facing? Let's do several perhaps. Perhaps this is day forty one, the day you too have decided you will no longer be intimidated by the giants that strut around in your life. Perhaps this is the day you've had enough. You've been going through the same struggles with no relief in sight. Perhaps this is the day you will surrender your life to Jesus Christ and trust him to handle these giants, these Goliaths. And perhaps this is the day you finally realize that your enemies are powerless against the God whom you serve. They are indeed, as performer and songwriter James Brown said in one of his songs, just talking loud and saying nothing. Finally, let not the strong man glory in his strength, nor the armed man in his armor. It is the person who place their faith, their trust in the living God who will be successful in conquering the Goliaths, the giants in their life. Amen. A quick reminder or a quick announcement. And now our weekly signature thought. In any given moment, there are bound to be more things to be grateful for than to be anxious about. May God bless you.
